Update as of April 7, 2007

Sorry guys, it took me some time to update this post.  But to tell you frankly, I am not in a writing mood today, so if you want to get the full details on Starstruck, please go to www.pinoy.rickey.org and go to Starstruck: The Next Level category or to www.starmometer.com and find the same category in one of its hyperlinks.

Again, my apologies.  I just feel so tamad the past few days

Stop… Think…

Ladilalala…

I am reading the CISA manual but my brain stopped processing all the logical access and information security theories.  Nag-hang na kumbaga.  And just like a computer, I feel like I needed to hibernate for a while and clean up some files in my memory.

Not that something’s bothering me.  In fact, I can’t ask for anything more (well, except for my vacation in the Philippines, or have my family shipped here in Canada).  I guess this is one of the days when you have that some sort of unexplicable full-but-empty feeling.

So I worked my way to the internet and surfed for something to amuse me.  Gratefully, the worldwide web never failed me.  I found two clips in Youtube which somehow made me realize that the world has not turned into a giant complicated ball floating in the universe. That if I only stop for a while and break free from my fast-paced life I can see that the littlest things can give me fulfillment and a much deserved peace of mind…

Take for example a baby’s laugh or a simple hug…

The second clip was actually a meme called Free Hugs campaign.  Based on my research, it originated from Sydney in 2004, but was only turned into a video in 2006.  From then on, it spread like a contagious disease having people all over the world offering their free hugs.  Will try to post more about this when my CPU (read: brain) resumes normal processing.  But you can always google it if you want (and besides, I feel like my brain will be out of service for quite a while).

Put The McPheever On!

Saturday, March 17th, 2007

Sabi ko na nga ba eh, Katherine McPhee should’ve won last year’s American Idol!  Or pwede na rin si Chris Daughtry.  See! Tsk tsk!

Anyway, watch Katherine’s single titled Over It in AOL.com.  Put the McPheever On!  Whohoo!

Buy her album now! (Tapos iregalo niyo sa akin…hehehe)

The Last Days

Monday, March 12th, 2007

Yey… my hundredth post!  I really planned to write something special for this, but my brain is not functioning well lately.  I think I am in a short-term insanity.  Hahaha! Well, that is a good thing for you, my friendsters, since you don’t receive stubborn updates that I have a new blog post.  LOL!!!

Anyway, since I don’t have something special to write today, I’d like to share with you a poignant song that’s been haunting me for so many years.  God bless Multiply where I finally found the mp3!  The song’s title is The Last Days, sung by a Pinoy band named Hourglass.  Again, sorry if I can’t upload a podcast here, just download the song so you can hear it.

The Last Days by Hourglass

mp3:  Hourglass - The Last Days.mp3

lyrics:

if today were the last of all days
would you change how you feel, who you are
would you rise for a moment above all your fears
become one with the moon and the stars

would you like what you see, looking down
did you give everything that you could
have you done everything that you wanted to do
is there still so much more than you would

follow your dream to the end of the rainbow
way beyond one pot of gold
open your eyes to the colors around you
and find the true beauty life holds

would you live for the moment like when you were young
and time didn’t travel so fast
be free in the present, enjoying the now
not tied to a future or past

follow your dream to the end of the rainbow
way beyond one pot of gold
open your eyes to the colors around you
and find the true beauty life holds

you probably said all you wanted to say
but doesn’t it strike you as strange
then we’d only begin to start living our lives
if today were the last of all days
if today were the last of all days

Paalam Na Muli…

Monday, March 5th, 2007

Huhuhu!!!  Buti pa siya makakabalik na ng Pilipinas.

World’s 10 Largest Shopping Malls

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

Forbes magazine recently released a list of world’s 10 largest shopping malls in terms of leasable area.  What’s exciting to know is that eight of these malls are found in Asia.  And an even more exciting fact is that three are found in the Philippines!  I guess Europeans (and North Americans) still go for "street-shopping".  I think its understandable for Pinoys to love malls because it offers them everything they want under one roof.   Sabi nga ng SM — "We’ve got it all for you." =)  And besides, who would enjoy shopping in a steamy hot or soaking wet weather.  However, the downside of this "mall craze" is that smaller shops close because of they cannot compete with the merchandising titans operating inside the malls.

Here’s a list of Forbes’ World Top 10 Malls (in reversed order):

Location: Guangzhou, China
