Forbes magazine recently released a list of world’s 10 largest shopping malls in terms of leasable area. What’s exciting to know is that eight of these malls are found in Asia. And an even more exciting fact is that three are found in the Philippines! I guess Europeans (and North Americans) still go for "street-shopping". I think its understandable for Pinoys to love malls because it offers them everything they want under one roof. Sabi nga ng SM — "We’ve got it all for you." =) And besides, who would enjoy shopping in a steamy hot or soaking wet weather. However, the downside of this "mall craze" is that smaller shops close because of they cannot compete with the merchandising titans operating inside the malls.
