Movies and Me
Sunday, September 11th, 2005After a long time, I finally found the (precious) time to watch a movie. Guess who was with me? Hahaha!!! I was with myself! I usually don’t see movies; I am not a movie addict I must say. Call me weird, but I never watched the Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings series. Spiderman, Batman and Catwoman made buzzes and fuzzes in the metro but you will never find me in cinemas waiting in those long queues. I guess I don’t have the patience for that or to simply put it, I just don’t feel like it.
But last Saturday was a sort of realization. I went to the office to finish some admin stuff and some client work as well. I then proceeded to Greenbelt chapel to hear the anticipated mass. After the mass, my mind was battling whether I should shop for new shirts or just see a movie. Oh btw, the last movie I watched was “If Only” shown last June or July. Okay, okay, I’ll admit – I was touched by the movie, I even cried and due to overwhelming amusement, or should I say, overflowing feelings, I bought its DVD!!! Bwahaha!!! Told ya I’m mushy (Please refer to my first blog entry for related documentation… audit ba’to? Mwehihi). Oops! Sorry, that was off the topic.
But since I was already in Greenbelt, I decided to watch a movie. All that was in my mind was to unwind … I felt the urge for a very needed break… to release all the stress and tension both from work and personal life. So there, I went to buy the tickets. I watched "A Long Weekend." Don’t ask me who the stars were, I don’t know them really. And don’t think that I’m pervert (since it was R-13). I just want a light movie that will not make me think. I JUST WANT TO LAUGH! And it did! It was not a very intellectual movie (well, what do I suppose to get?). In fact the story was very mababaw!!! But in fairness, I enjoyed it. Or is it the girl that was beside me… Hihihi…=)
I went home, maybe not totally stress free, but somehow relieved. I will now see to it that once in a while, I’ll take time to see movies (but still, I will never watch Harry Potter if ever its installment will be on the big screen!) or do other things by my own. Actually, my next plan is to go to the derma for my long deserved facial treatment! Oh how it really feels good that now I can think and do things for myself! Oh Freedom… I’m lovin’ it!
